Board of Directors
The Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia's Board of Directors is responsible for governance, planning, policy setting, budget approval and fund development. Time commitment is approximately 80 hours per year and includes Board meetings, education sessions, special events and committee work.
We accept applications through out the year (including an interview). Responsibilities start at the Annual General Meeting in June of each year.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing the finances of the Society, establishing rules for, and providing advice on accounting policy, reviewing budgets and financial statements before presentation to the Board. They are also responsible for ensuring and reviewing the annual external audit of the Society's books of account. Members are usually accountants or people with other financial backgrounds.

Fund Development
The philanthropy committee sets the direction for encouraging philanthropy, planning and assisting in events, website advertising & general administration including follow up phone calls.
