Want to be a volunteer speaker?
Legal Info Nova Scotia gets requests from libraries, community groups, academic institutes, organizations and private businesses for speakers on a variety of legal topics. If you'd like to volunteer to be a speaker please join our Volunteer Speaker List!
While most of the volunteers on our Speakers Bureau are lawyers, there are speakers from other professionals/disciplines who who are knowledgeable about a particular area. For example charity issues, taxation, scams & frauds, and elder abuse.
Legal information sessions are generally booked for 45 minutes (30 minutes presentation & 15 minutes to allow for questions) and they need to be delivered in easy to understand language. But sometimes we have requests for speakers to present on a panel.
In addition, from time to time, professional groups will contact us regarding speakers and the media may seek Legal Info Nova Scotia's help in identifying a lawyer who can talk about a particular issue that is in the news.
