The "Raising awareness of consent laws and privacy issues among youth" project was funded by the government of Nova Scotia, as part of its "Acting together on Sexual Violence/Bullying Initiative".

 The project aimed to:

  • identify existing initiatives that have successfully addressed the issue of consent in Canada or elsewhere;
  • identify key issues and barriers to understanding among youth on the issues of consent and privacy and the best method to develop information so that it is accessible, sustainable and appealing to youth;
  • identify and recommend a model/tools for moving forward and key collaborative partners.

We conducted consultations in five areas of the province with key stakeholders, and consultations with legal information colleague organizations in the other Atlantic province. We also looked at cultural and other factors.
