New rules for navigating NS courtsLEGAL NEWS Nova Scotia's new Civil Procedure Rules came into effect on January 1 2009. The Civil Procedure Rules are made by the judges of Nova Scotia's Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, and provide a roadmap for navigating court process. The new Rules are the result of a 5-year overhaul of the court rules, which have been in place since 1972. The Rules cover everything from starting a law suit to appealing or enforcing a judgment, and include court forms. You'll find the Rules on the Nova Scotia Courts' website, and in searchable format on the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society website.
