The Legal Information Society's
For approximately 40% of all married couples in Canada, divorce is a reality. That reality brings with it legal, financial and emotional consequences. All of these issues will be explored in Canada's first Divorce Fair, produced by the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia.
Held at the Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax on January 15th (men attendees only) and 16th (women attendees only), this event will feature information sessions on a range of topics related to the "D" word such as separation, parenting during and after divorce, dealing with stress, property and pension issues. There will be presentations by Justice Harvey Brownstone from Ontario's Family Court and author of Tug of War: A Judge's Verdict on Separation, Custody Battles and the Bitter Realities of Family Court.
As well, there will be a variety of booths representing businesses and services that someone separating or divorcing may need to deal with. Law firms, psychologists, financial services firms, travel agents, stylists, career placement companies and many more are being invited to participate.
