Welcome to LISNS Online
A not-for-profit organization, the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia (or LISNS), has been providing Nova Scotians with information and resources about the law for more than 25 years.
LISNS’ staff and volunteers believe easy access to information about the law is fundamental to a fair
justice system. Quite simply, it’s why and what we do.

Networking Nova ScotiansSERVICE SPOTLIGHTThe internet presents unprecedented opportunities for sharing information and resources among Nova Scotia's many non-profit organizations and registered charities. Recognizing this, LISNS has created the YourLaw web portal - an online commons for civic-minded organizations. Is your group concerned with advocacy, outreach, or community-related issues? If so, visit www.yourlaw.ns.ca to find out more, or click here for further information.

It is also an offence to smoke in a vehicle if a person under 19 is present – even if a window, sunroof, or door is open. Click here to read the full article...

Volunteer Extraordinaire
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
We met Ben Boudreau in the summer of 2006 when he came to us as a student in Fund Development and Communications. Recognizing his winning ways and abilities right away, Ben continues to volunteer with our annual Law Day Lunch and new event, Play in a Day.
Having lived in the Netherlands, Ireland and Ottawa, we're glad Ben calls Nova Scotia home, as we love the energy and expertise he brings to LISNS.
Ben earned his Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and was a finalist in CBC Radio's "Canada Writes" contest. To see some of Ben’s writing go to http://bensprblog.blogspot.com
Ben – we cannot thank you enough!
